CD/DVD burning capability is in built added in to the windows operating system.However, the steps for burning CD/DVD on windows vista and Windows 7 are quite different.

You can use built-in feature that create CD/DVD in Windows 7.The step below guide you to How to create CD/DVD. They are very much similar to Vista.
1. Insert a blank recordable/rewritable CD/DVD disc into the CD drive.
2. With the new disk, windows ask you to which format you want to use.
3. You have to see “Like a USB Flash Drive” and “With a CD/DVD Player”. In this you have to select “With a CD/DVD Player” because this compatible on wide range of windows version as well as other device, but require burning the disc all at once.
4. Don’t forget to change the “Disc Title” to something descriptive for your disc, then click Next.
5. Navigate to folder or files which you want to burn to the disc, then select the folders/files and click “Burn”.
6. A new window is now created similar to the following image, showing the selected files and folders added to the queue to burn to disc. Click “Burn to Disc”.
7. On the next popup “Burn to Disc”, verify the disc title and select the maximum burning speed, then click “Next”.
8. If you have to burn a audio files then It ask you to burn as audio or data file. Then select audio.
9. The burning wizard will start writing data to the disc and will close and eject the CD/DVD when finish.
