In the Modern communication system wireless router is more helpful to reduce the cable problem on the home and other official area. It is also helpful to connect more computers in some range without using Internet cable.
Computer which is at home or in office can easily connect through wireless router.
Setting to Secured network through the Wireless router, it will helpful to any user to use their data direct login on the user properly.
You have to help this step to set up secured Wireless Network that will provide either through WPA or WEP.
Connect to Modem
Switch off your modem
Connect one end of your Ethernet cable to the ‘input’, on the back side of the router.
Switch on your modem.
Generally it is a good rule to wait at least a minute before continuing to the next step.
Connect to the Computer
Connect one end of a second Ethernet cable to one of the available port on the router.
Give Power to your router
Plug your router to the power source wait until light of router is not glow. After glow the light, it shows that it is connected to the internet. Generally it is green color LED light.
If your router includes software and driver CD then insert disk and install the driver and set up your Network.
If your router does not include a disk continue next steps.
Configure your Network
Router IP address that is selected automatically.
Most router by default use, http://192.168.1.1 as default IP address.
Open your browser and type your default IP address in the address bar.
Insert your Username and Password, if it is not set then Default Username=Admin and Password=Password.
You can also get your router by going to Start Menu<<Control Panel<<Network and Sharing Center. Click the center icon at top, which usually has the house as an icon if you saved your network as a Home Network. On the next page under Network Infrastructure you should see your router listed. Just Right Click your router Icon and you should have a menu option to view Homepage.
Basic settings.
Do the Setting in which you enter your Router Name and IP address.
P Settings
Locate wireless settings. Choose a Name (SSID) for the Network from which you can easily identify.
Select Wireless Mode This is your speed for your Wireless.
Example: 54 Mbps 145 Mbps and 300 Mbps.
For your Wireless Security settings, most modern Routers include the following types of security:
None – No Security. Not recommended if you are in an area where someone who lives next door to you could use your wireless connection to connect to the Internet.
WEP – Older Security encryption used for wireless network with better option now available.
WPA-PSK (TKIP) – Better security than WEP and sometimes user still use this if they have issues with devices connecting. Still a great security option. There is a 54 Mbps limit on this connecting using Legacy G.
WPA2-PSK (AES) – Newer security using N support and if you have no issues with devices connecting this is the recommended security option as it gives you the best security.
WPA-PSK (TKIP) + WPA2-PSK (AES) – If you have issue with devices connecting you can use this setting as it gives you a combination of WPA and WPA2.
Another thing to note outside of setting up your router is setting up sharing for computer and devices connected to your Network.
